Our little cutie family…

Baby bugs is about to be 11 months real soon!! How has it almost been a year already!?? It feels like we just finished taking our maternal shoot last week lol but some how we are here.

They really don’t prepare you for how quickly it goes! It’s bittersweet, you sort of mourn the passing of the previous stage to then welcome your growing and curious baby’s ever changing self! It’s all so beautiful and overwhelming at the same time.

I’m just grateful for the time I’ve gotten to just be present with my little family, especially since I stepped away from work and content creation.

I don’t know what’s next. But I’m utterly grateful for the now and all these little moments of joy! Especially the last image 🥹

Anyhow, love you fam! And praying you are all basking in these simple joys too! 😊❤️

The theme for this Spring has been celebrating what has been and embracing all that’s new! We celebrated our 10 year anniversary. Celebrated my 35th! And what made it even sweeter was celebrating these milestone as a family of three! Our little boy is about to be 10 months old! Can you believe it!!??? I can’t stress enough how fast this all felt! And I’m finally feeling like I’m at a place where I’ve got our new rhythm down—embracing our new normal! Embracing life as a first time mama! Embracing days filled with sticky fingers, messy tables, endless laughter, dinosaur roars, late night cuddles, tired mornings, silly faces, dirty diapers, quick meals, a demanding mini boss, sunny walks, singing lullabies, … and the list can go on. We prayed for this! It’s hard work. Life is forever changed, but it is abundantly saturated in a love we never knew! Grateful for all that was! Cherishing all that we have now! And hopeful for all that is to come. Thank you God!

We love taking our little one on adventures, wheth

We love taking our little one on adventures, whether it’s a stroll in the park or taking him on his first travels! And We have loved using our Baby Tula carriers on our trips! We purchased our first carrier from Tula because of their quality, functionality and because they fit great on plus size bodies too!

We were really excited when they sent us a new carrier from their Signature Collection which features limited-edition carriers crafted in collaboration with artisan weavers. We really put it to the test on our first travel with baby to Jamaica and it did not disappoint. Baby bugs loved it and even slept in it for most of our flight. The best parts we’re watching him discover the world around him all cuddled up with in the carrier— memories I’ll never forget!

Since then we’ve been trying to soak up all the adventures I get to carry my little one on before he out grows this stage! It all goes by way too fast but we are collecting memories along the way. And now that spring is here we are ready for those sunny strolls again— and I’m really looking forward to taking him to the botanical garden this month! The current project we are working on, is getting him pacifier free!! 😬 Mamas, send your tips and tricks, bc this child won’t sleep well without his specific pacifier. But I don’t want it to mess with his oral development and speech! HALLPPP!! I think we are going to try the slowly cutting it down thing. Did this work for anyone? Do you all have any hacks or tips of your own? We tried the baby Frida system, but he won’t even take the first one 😂 and I’ve learned recently at 9 months babes develop an emotional attachment to their pacifiers 😬 so this is going to be hardddd! 😑 🫠😊❤️

I haven’t been creating content the way I used t

I haven’t been creating content the way I used to and it’s mostly because life has changed drastically for me. I wanted to take time to enjoy my little one in his first year and to be as present as I could be. This meant stepping away from work and content creation! But because my content has always been a reflection of my life and where I’m at, things have shifted!

What does this mean? To be honest I’m not 100 percent sure of what that looks like just yet. I have idea of what I want to create and do here! But the reality is, I won’t be able to create content as often as I did nor do I want to create content for daily consumption anymore.

In the time I’ve been away I’ve done a lot of reflecting and realizing how much of my artist self I missed. Social Media has a way of challenging you as a creator and keeping you accountable to output, but not necessarily accountable to depth. I have loved creating fun quick reels and the such but I have missed creating more intentional works. In reflecting, I realized I missed the SLOW in crafting and creating to tell great stories. I missed the art I once created and missed the art I hoped to create whether in writing, poetry, photography or video.

My hope is to start sharing some of those “slow” works but I will also continue to share fun quick content here and there too, or at least what/when I am inspired to create! You can still expect fashion, travel and lifestyle content but I hope to do so with a little more intentionality and, always, a whole lot of creativity 😊

Reflecting this morning…It’s going to be our ten year anniversary this year. Only a few more months now! Our marriage has been a journey. It’s been work. It’s beautiful.

In the hardest of heartbreaks there was a time where people weren’t accepting of our love. And there was a time we thought we may never have a day where we get to share our love with a little one. Along this ride we have had to face some of the toughest obstacles together. But here we are! After years of praying. Here we are, blessed! Grateful to God who has answered prayers. Who has brought reconciliation. Who brought us our baby bugs. Who holds our marriage. And who has blessed us enough to be able to even have the privilege of being a family of three going on our first vacation together surrounded by family we love. If you only knew the half of it, utterly grateful that we are even here! Years in the making to be HERE! But we got our answered prayers! Soooo looking forward to the rest of this year!!! Jamaica Photo Dump! (Part 1) Our first trip as a family! It was not easy traveling with a 6 month old but all the memories were so worth it! The highlight for me was seeing him swim at the beach for the first time 😊 and how he would just relax in his little float! He also loved his little shades lol! I was so surprised he never tried taking them off haha. And the flights were fairly smooth! He slept through most of it. Overall it went way better than I expected it would! Can’t wait to travel again with my little explorer! 🥰

I was blessed with a wonderful night sleeper. At about 2.5 months old baby bugs was sleeping through the night. And now he sleeps from 10 to 12 hrs a night. But what I never expected was how terrible of a napper he would be! Sleeping from 20 to 30 min a nap or skipping a nap altogether. I really couldn’t get anything done during the day. But @huckleberrycare saved the day!
